Our story

People, comfort, conversation, and community.

Pulp & Steam is run by Issah and his father Farid — years in coffee between them — and opened at 112 Ladbroke Grove in May 2026.

A letter from Issah

Hi all — my name is Issah, and alongside my father, Farid, I'm incredibly proud to have opened Pulp & Steam at 112 Ladbroke Grove.

We took over from Manzura and her family at Cozy Trio, a place that meant so much to this community. The warmth and care she showed everyone who walked through these doors is something we deeply admire, and something we hope to continue at Pulp & Steam. We know we have big shoes to fill.

Having lived in London my whole life, I know cafés are about much more than coffee. They're about people, comfort, conversation, and community. Coffee has been our family's trade for years, and opening this café with my father — while I finish my Master's — is a dream come true. We feel incredibly grateful to be doing it in such a welcoming area.

We serve speciality coffee, fresh juices, sandwiches and freshly baked pastries in a space designed to feel open, personal and welcoming. Thank you for already making us feel so at home — we can't wait to meet you.

Much love,
Issah & Farid

How we got here

From Cozy Trio to Pulp & Steam.

  1. Before

    The Cozy Trio years

112 Ladbroke Grove was Manzura's Cozy Trio — a café the neighbourhood genuinely loved, and the reason these are big shoes to fill.

  2. Spring 2026

    A family takes it on

Issah and his father Farid — years in coffee between them — take over the keys, keep the bones of the room, and start building Pulp & Steam.

  3. 22 May 2026

    Doors open

Coffees, matcha, pressed juice and sandwiches from day one — and a £1-coffee launch weekend that queued down the Grove.

What we're about

Three things we won't budge on.

  • People first

Cafés are about people, comfort, conversation, and community. The coffee is the excuse.

  • Made fresh, daily

Juice pressed to order, sandwiches built at the counter, pastries baked every morning. Nothing sits around.

  • Part of the Grove

A minute from the station, tables on the pavement, regulars by name. Notting Hill's local, not a chain.

“Great service and healthy food that tastes amazing — big shout out to Issah and Rose, both lovely hospitality.”
